What is District L, Lift in the Lakes?

District L gym and events are owned by George Birtle. Over the last decade George has been doing Crossfit and adapted a functional lifestyle in the Lake District. 

George has grown Lift in the Lakes from a small teams 1 day event to a 3 day competition with over 250 teams of six athletes, 3 male and 3 female to take on 8 workouts including a crowd pleasing final workout.

Location: Glenridding, The Lake District

Venue: Glenridding, Ullswater

Date: 19th, 20th & 21st June 2026

Format: 3 male and 3 female

Events: 8 workouts across three days
